September 1st is the most long-awaited day for all those who cross the school threshold for the first time. It is an exciting day with a sea of flowers, bows of white ribbon and, of course, unforgettable memories. On the eve of the First Day of School, the steel mill ran a series of festive and charitable activities dedicated to the beginning of the academic year.
The Management and Trade Unions of our company organized a fete held on August 26 at the DSS Culture Hall and dedicated to First-Grader Day for children whose parents work at DSS.
On that day the children became not only spectators but also participants in the magical journey to the Fairy-Tale Land of Knowledge. Many warm words and wishes were exchanged and fun contests for children held. The performers at the DSS culture hall delighted the kids with their entertaining acts. Following the performances, the young guests of honor were treated to a buffet of sweets and a dance party.
The students-to-be received gifts of school bags full of exercise books, pens and pencils in addition to balloons and souvenir badges with the inscription 'First-Grader - 2007'.
Also, the DSS could not forget about the school kids who, unfortunately, were deprived of the opportunity to share the joy of the First Bell with their classmates - being patients of the Oncology-Hematology Ward of the Zaporozhye Region's Children's Clinical Hospital. Before the First Day of School DSS held a charity fundraiser to collect money, school materials, accessories and toys for the children.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all those who contributed in making sure that on that special day the kids felt a festive atmosphere filled with love and care.
We can be truly proud to know that such caring people work at our company and, offer, within their sometimes modest means, a helping hand to those who need it.
Our employees have shown again the best side of themselves in demonstrating their generous souls. The sum collected was quite impressive - UAH 4,600! The decision was made that it should not be spent on office supplies (as enough of those was collected), but rather used to purchase a refrigerator- the Oncology-Hematology Ward of the Zaporozhye Region's Children's Clinical Hospital had a serious problem storing drugs and medications.
In just the last 6 months DSS has made a transfer of 76 thousand hryvnias to help meet the needs of the oncology ward. Last month our company management allocated funds for the purchase of sixteen air conditioners for the oncology-hematology ward.
Respectfully yours,
Management and Trade Unions at DSS
